Jimmy jumped up when he saw her trying to set up.

"Don't. The doctors don't want you moving a lot."

He managed to get her to lay back down.

"How are you feeling?"

He smiled softly as he held onto her hand.

"I know I've picked on you terribly. I haven't always been nice to you. I'm sorry about that."

He looked at her and smiled a little.

"I do like you, Braelyn. I think my picking on you was my way of getting you to notice me."

He looked down at their hands.

"I'm sorry for being so mean to you, Braelyn. I promise that won't happen again."

He looked up when the doctor came in. He left and waited in the hall for her exam. Once it was okay for him to go back inside he went over and held her hand again.

"Everything okay?"

He nodded thinking.

"Let me talk to the doctor and see what your discharge orders are."

He went to talk to the doctor and came back several minutes later frowning.

"He doesn't want you staying alone for a few days. Think your boyfriend will let you stay with him?"

He frowned more thinking about what the doctor said.

"The doctor said you are pregnant, Braelyn. Is that possible?"

He remembered that. That was about two months ago.

He nodded thinking about it. He took her hand in his again then smiled softly.

"Looks like the two of us are going to be parents."

He nodded agreeing. He moved so he could help her get dressed without her hurting herself more.

"We will figure it out together."

He stopped and kissed her forehead.

"You can come stay with me. The doctor says you need to stay with someone the next few days. I have the room at my place now that Aidan moved out."

He looked at the papers seeing she had a couple prescriptions.

"We'll go through the pharmacy's drive thru and get these."

He drove to the pharmacy near his house. It only took about fifteen minutes to get the prescriptions filled then they were heading to his place.

He helped her inside and to the sofa.

"I'm going to let you have my room. It's more comfortable than the one Aidan was using. Plus Aidan's needs cleaned. I'll sleep on the sofa today and clean his room tomorrow."

He looked at her then leaned toward her and kissed her softly.

"I wondered what that would be like when we weren't arguing."

He smiled as he watched her.

"Kissing you when we are both angry is pretty hot. Kissing you while we are both calm is really nice also."

He leaned toward her and kissed her again. This time it was a slightly more passionate kiss than the first one.

"Yes. Very nice."

He smiled and nodded.

"Much better than fighting with you."

He gently touched her belly.

"Even thought fighting did have its benefits."

He nodded understanding.

"I never wanted to be a father. But now that I know I am going to be, I'm cool with it."

He looked at his hand on her stomach and smiled.

"Together we can do this. It'll be tough, but we'll figure it out."

He kissed her softly.

"We can do it. I have faith in us."

He smiled and looked at her.

"One baby who will be happy and healthy and have everything he will ever need."

He shrugged thinking about it.

"I would be happy with a girl also. I just want our baby to be healthy and happy."

He thought of what he saw with her father earlier and frowned.

"Did you have a really bad childhood?"

He wrapped his arms around her and held her gently against his chest.

"I will make sure he never bothers you again."

He softly rubbed her back thinking about everything that had happened that day. It sure was an eventful day.

"Are you hungry?"

He nodded and smiled softly.

"Come on. I'll show you around the house. We'll go slow so you don't hurt yourself."

He showed her around glad that the house was only one story. She wouldn't have to worry about stairs.

He opened the door to his room and watched her look around.

"This is where you will sleep tonight. I'll clean up the other room tomorrow and wash the bedding."

He sat down beside her on the bed.

"Is that your way of inviting me to share my bed with you?"

He kissed her softly.

"I promise to behave myself."

He knew that even if they both wanted to, sex was off the table. She needed recovery time more than she needed sex.

He smiled softly as he looked at her.

"I do like you, Braelynn. Like you a lot."

He thought about what she said then grinned.

"That is going to make raising a child together much easier."

He got up from the bed and moved her a little so she could lay down and rest. He pulled the blanket over her and kissed her softly.

"You get some rest. I'm going to go toss some laundry in the washer."

He kissed her softly then went to gather the blankets and sheets from the other room. He tossed them into the washer. He removed the clothes from the dryer that he had washed that morning. He folded them and put the ones on hangers that needed to be. When he took them up to his room to put away he saw that Braelynn was sleeping. He smiled as he watched her for a few minutes.

He suddenly realized something. She didn't have any clothes here.

He left the room and went out to the hall and called his sister. She agreed to come stay with Braelynn while he went to her place to get a few things for her.

He went back into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Braelynn?"

He kissed her lightly and smiled when she opened her eyes.

"I'm sorry to wake you. I just wanted to let you know that my sister, Nicole, is going to come and set with you for a bit. I need the keys to your place so I can get you some clothes."

He knew that her going back to the hut wouldn't be safe. Not for her or the baby. He would get all of her things and move her into the house with him.

"I'll wait for Nicole to get here then I won't be gone long."

He tucked the blankets around her and kissed her cheek before heading to answer the door and let Nicole in.

When he got back, Braelynn was still sleeping. It gave him time to talk with his sister a bit before she left. With Nicole being a psychiatrist she could help him figure out how to best support Braelynn.

Once Nicole left, he went to the bedroom and hung Braelynn's clothes in the closet. He smiled when he turned and saw that she was awake.

"Hey. Have a nice nap?"

He leaned toward her and kissed her softly.

"Good. You needed it."

He pointed to the closet.

"All of your clean clothes are in there. I left the dirty ones in the laundry room. I'll wash them after the bedding is finished. The rest of your things are setting downstairs. I brought it all over. Figured this place is safer for you and the baby than the cabin."

He took her hand in his and smiled softly.

"I like having you here. I enjoy taking care of you."

He kissed her softly but slowly deepened the kiss. When he finally pulled back he was a little out of breath.

"Would you like me to run a bath for you? I have a great soaker tub. Perfect for relaxing."

He got up from the bed and went into the bathroom. He ran the bath and poured a little of the Epsom salts into the water. He went back to the room and helped her up from the bed.

"I added some Epsom salts. They will help with any pain."

He sat beside her on the floor and smiled softly.

"You'll start to feel more yourself in a few days. Until then, you have me to take care of you."

He kissed her softly.

"I love you, Braelynn."

He smiled when she said that.

"I think we can make a happy little family. Me, you, and our baby."

He kissed her softly then stood up and undressed. He stepped into the bath behind her and smiled when she leaned back against him.

"Much nicer seeing you naked when we aren't fighting."

He kissed her shoulder softly. He stopped before they both went further than her body was ready for.

He smiled as she turned at little to look at him.

"You make it very hard to be a good boy."

He washed her off while she leaned against him. He carefully washed her hair. He couldn't help smiling as he did this for her.

"Practice for when the baby gets here and I'm giving him or her a bath."

He kissed her softly.

"I'm looking forward to being a dad."
